Favorite place: the Cheesecake Factory

I can't believe I've never been 'til lunch today, but it was worth the wait! When I lived in Charlotte, you couldn't get near the place. My friend Patty and I lucked out in Jacksonville today, no wait and outstanding service.

Not only were the chicken quesadillas the best I've ever had, the whimsical interior design was perfect. Intricately faux painted walls with what looked like areas of venetian plaster. Kinda funky Egyptian motifs and seemingly unrelated bird and mermaid ceiling murals. But it all worked!

And the cheesecake, well... let me just say...

My South Beach Diet is over. And good riddance.

Patty and I both ordered takeouts of the Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake with flourless chocolate cake crust. And it's gluten-free, so I could share my thick slice with DH! Quite possibly the best dessert this chocoholic has ever had. Heavenly. I'll be back.

I didn't even eat my cheesecake last night. I'm saving it for this evening when I don't have to share it.

I love the cheesecake factory too!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Back Porch and your lovely comment. St Charles is one of our favorite places. Fortunately, we are only about 30 minutes away. We so love seeing the improvements in the Historic District. North Main Street looked great, Saturday.

I'm adding you to my list of blogs to visit. You have a wonderful blog. I don't want to lose track of you.

Pat, Thanks for stopping by! I'm going to add The Back Porch blog too!

Patty, you are tooooooo funny. Even though my serious chocolate craving is now gone, can I come over for what should have been TIM's rightful half of that slice? LOL! -MK

Hmm, now I know I must stop by the Cheesecake factory and have a slice or 2.....:)

Just found your blog, I am so happy! I had seen you at RMS, but was not a member so I could not post a comment, but I just fell in love with your home and style. I'm adding you to my blog roll!

Love Cheesecake Factory. We don't have one here in Detroit, which is ironic because that's where the original owners started their business.

My partner swears by their burrito...he said it's better than any Mexican restaurant he's ever eaten at. I love the Shepherd's pie.

And don't even get me started on their carrot cake (and carrot cake cheese cake!)

Found your blog about a month ago and check it everyday, so much inspiration.
Does your DH have Celiac? My son does, and loves the Godiva it's hard to find restaurant desserts that he can have.
Thanks for sharing your home

I just visited the one in Palm Beach Gardens last Friday and enjoyed an egg white breakfast. Then I dabbled in my niece's mac & cheese which is no ordinary mac & cheese. The best I've ever tasted.

And I couldn't agree more on the decor/faux finishes.

Hey Beverly! Thanks for visiting! Yes, my Jim has celiac. He's not a big dessert freak, like me, but it's so nice when he can eat something special. Life definitely improved when, after 10 years, we found the gluten-free beers, most notably Negra Modelo, the premium Mexican beer!

I just found your blog! You used to live in Charlotte! I just moved away from Charlotte. : ( We lived in the Southpark area and went to the Cheesecake Factory for Sunday lunch a few times. Love it!

Great blog! You've inspired me to start blogging again and chronicle the process of decorating our new house. We move on Monday and I can't wait to start painting!

We don't have one of these in our place. When we were in the other city, once we went there. We were just passing by it, (after meal at friend's place) we only had some cheesecake. It's not bad. I remember that they were very busy so we didn't get to sit with our group.

Well, I was looking online at the Cheesecake factory because tomorrow is my husband's birthday and he would like go there...
Unfortunatly you guys can eat a lots of food gluten free but for people like me there isn't a good selection. I'm allergic to gluten, corn, almonds, lactose and...I'm vegetarian.

:( If somebody know about restaurants were I can finally eat please e mail me at goldenwings1@hotmail.it

I'm from Italy and in my country I've never had a problem in the restaurants but here I can't find a restaurant that I would love to go and I would be safe :(

Thanks
