Ricky & Jeff's Entry Lounge posted by wallscouture
Sometimes Rate My Space is a mystery to me. Uploaded 7 days ago, 2550+ views, 108 ratings, 4.2 stars. I would have picked this to be on or near the front page!

I love the the "Florida look," of course. The subtlety of the different faux paint treatments really stands out to me. A lot of folks overdo faux in a single space, "because they can." Ricky's (AKA "wallscouture") restraint shows, and the result is wonderful. He also added the faux arched niche.
But my favorite feature is the drum shade Ricky had made to fit over his existing traditional fixture. Talk about a great idea with spectacular results. I may have to steal THAT idea!
If you like this space as much as I do, please rate it here and leave a nice comment. You'll also find all the details on the faux painting.

This blog is fantastic! Sorry it took me so long to check it out! I'm adding you to my blog roll right now, and will do a follow-up story about you later. I have Bed And Tango guests arriving tomorrow, so I gotta go scrub the toilet in their bathroom. Ah the glam of being a tango star LOL!
I saw this great space and wondered the same thing too. I love the mix of color and the chandelier is absolutely fabulous.
I wish there was a way to save favorite spaces on the RMS site that you can go back to over and over again. :)
I'm always leery if they only post one gorgeous picture of their room. A few times they have been magazine photos, although I'm not implying that this beautiful one is. Of course now the RMS website is loaded with so many medicore and poor quality rooms so they can be chosen for the tv show so it's difficult to find the gems that are there.
The other rooms he posted were amazing too. I loved the dining room ceiling treatment in his friend's home.
There is sooooo much here to love. I love the faux paint in the archway. I'm not a big fan of faux because it does get overdone ...but that is just the perfect touch. I love that he used the perfect art...just the right size and amount of detail. I've seen those new chandeliers with the drum shades...Horchow has one that I've been mooning over but the price is ridiculous! How clever of him to create his own. This definitely should have been front page. Thanks for bringing it to us. You're now my only source for RMS and I love your choices of what to highlight.
Naz - I did look pretty carefully at this one. It has a date on it and a few other details that made me believe it was a real photo posted by a real person, not stolen from a professional's site. I'm wary when I see that perfectly staged, model home look. And posters who never answers the questions of the commenters...because the can't! -MK
Hi Mary Kay...love your blog! I always learn something new when I visit...and I really like that! Also, wanted to say thanks so much for those kinds words about my little green hutch at Gollum's!
:-) Susan
So pretty! So many wonderful photos on that website. I've gained a lot of inspiration from photos people upload of their own home.
